On Oct 19, *China Science Daily* ran a Page 4 feature story *Competing with Trillion-Dollar Giants: He Aims to Ignite the Spark of Physical AI Applications*. The article profiles Nie Kaixuan, Founder & CEO of Songying Technology, and its Physical AI industrial exploration.
Drawing on Nie’s perspective on domestic computing and software ecosystems, the report highlights Songying’s development of ORCA OS, collaborative training for heterogeneous robots and developer ecosystem initiatives, focusing on bringing Physical AI into manufacturing, logistics and other real industrial scenarios.
Recently, the Preliminary Round (Simulation Track) of the 2026 Power Embodied Intelligence Application Competition, co-hosted by China Southern Power Grid Company and Songying Technology, has come to a successful conclusion. Songying Technology served as the sole external technical partner providing the supporting platform.
This is China’s first professional embodied intelligence competition built for real-world power operation scenarios. It drew nearly 100 registered teams from power grid institutions at all levels, robotics enterprises, AI firms, universities and research institutes. More than 1,000 professional developers completed the full competition workflow including scenario data collection, model training, task execution and automated scoring on Songying ORCA Lab.
To date, it is also the world’s largest professional embodied intelligence application competition.
ROSCon China 2026 took place at Midea Global Innovation Park in Shanghai from October 16 to 18. As the annual flagship gathering of China’s ROS community, the conference bridges the global ROS ecosystem and frontline contributors of China’s robotics industry. It facilitates exchanges on technical tools and engineering practices for developers ranging from beginners to senior engineers.
Wang Bicheng, Vice President of Solutions at Songying Technology, delivered a keynote titled *ORCA: The Physical AI Operating System, Accelerating Physical AI into the Real World*. He presented Songying’s technical roadmap for Physical AI application development: ORCA OS, the Physical AI operating system, interconnects scenarios, data, training and validation. Powered by simulation-real robot collaboration, it enables robots to transition from digital environments to real-world field operations.
From October 16 to 18, the Inaugural Global Embodied Intelligence Application Innovation Challenge, alongside the 2026 China Robot Competition, was held in Hangzhou. Hosted by the Chinese Association of Automation and the National Pilot Base for Embodied Intelligence Application, the China Robot Competition was first launched in 1999 and stands as a key professional competition in China’s robotics sector. The preliminary round drew approximately 28,000 participants from 380 universities, enterprises and public institutions nationwide, while the final gathered 2,000 teams with nearly 5,000 contestants. The event received coverage from CCTV News, China News Service, Xinhuanet and other media outlets.
The 2026 Physical AI + Power-Scenario Intelligent Robot Sim2Real Challenge, co-organized by Songying Technology, Fengyuzhu (603466.SH), the National Pilot Base for Embodied Intelligence Application and Hangzhou Hi-Tech Innovation Group, was one of the three independent corporate tracks under the main competition. It concluded on October 18.
On September 11, 2026, at the "Physical AI & Embodied Intelligent Robot Innovation Ecology Conference" held during the 13th China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), Nie Kaixuan, Founder and CEO of Songying Technology, delivered a keynote speech. The threshold for Physical AI is shifting from "making robots move" to "making robot capabilities verifiable, reproducible and sustainable". Underpinning this is a systems engineering framework that connects data, models, robot hardware, computing power, industrial software and real-world scenarios.
On September 7, 2026, Shanghai Songying Technology Co., Ltd. (“Songying Technology”) and Yujia Zhishu Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (“Yujia Zhishu”) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation on the training and integration of the ORCA OS Physical AI Operating System with industrial multi-source heterogeneous data, and jointly explore the industrial implementation paths of Physical AI in the fields of predictive maintenance for high-end equipment and embodied intelligence.
From September 11 to 13, the China Computing Conference 2026 was held in Langfang, Hebei. With the theme of "Weaving the Computing Network Together, Powering a New Intelligent Future", the conference serves as a high-profile industry event in China’s computing sector in the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. It builds a national-level comprehensive platform for industrial exchange, innovation empowerment, supply-demand matching and ecosystem co-construction.

During the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC), CEO Nie Kaixuan attended the "Bionic Empowerment · Intelligent Creation of the Future" parallel forum as a distinguished guest and completed an on-site signing ceremony. As a key participant, Songying Technology joined the Bionic Embodied Intelligence Industry Going-Global Ecosystem Alliance, contributing core underlying simulation capabilities and opening a two-way channel from domestic technology accumulation to overseas scenario deployment.
Songying Technology, a leading physical AI operating system company, officially announced the completion of several hundred million RMB in Series A and A1 financing. The rounds were led by CICC Capital and Wuhan Hongshan Capital, with follow-on investment from well-known financial and industrial institutions including Shangrong Capital, Aosheng Technology, Gaoxin Capital, Shanghai Angel Association, Fengyuzhu, and Qiaobei Capital, and over-allocation from existing shareholders such as Zhongxin Fund. This marks the company's third financing round within six months. The funds will be focused on continuous iteration of the ORCA OS physical AI operating system, deep adaptation to domestic chip ecosystems, developer ecosystem building, and scaled deployment in key industry scenarios.
On August 15-16, the 2026 CCF China Open Source Conference was held in Chongqing. Founder & CEO Nie Kaixuan delivered a keynote speech titled "Open-Source Co-Building of a Physical AI Operating System to Resolve the Multi-Robot Collaboration Dilemma," sharing how the open-source model accelerates physical AI simulation training, technical validation, and industrial application. He also introduced ORCA Lab 1.0 — China's first native physical AI developer platform for individuals and small teams, sharing the ORCA OS technology foundation with a free and open software stack. This continues the ecosystem momentum following Songying's donation in June to establish China's first embodied intelligence open-source special fund at the Tiangong Kaiwu Open Source Foundation.
On August 12-13, CCF CAD/CG 2026 (the 29th National Conference on Computer-Aided Design and Computer Graphics) was held in Suzhou. Songying Technology, together with the conference competition committee, launched the official track "Real-time 4DGS Rendering and Editing Challenge," with 7 university teams reaching the finals and awards presented on August 13. The challenge shares the same technical lineage as ORCA ENGINE (real-time ray tracing + PBR rendering): 4DGS introduces the time dimension, extending static 3D to dynamic 4D real-time rendering and editing. The Songying team was deeply involved from challenge design through hands-on technical mentoring.
On the afternoon of August 11, Tan Ruicong, Deputy District Governor of Minhang, led a delegation to Shanghai Songying Technology Co., Ltd., joined by officials from the District Science and Technology Commission, District Economy and Information Commission, District Talent Bureau, District Education Bureau, Zero Bay Group, and Minhang Investment. Deputy District Governor Tan fully affirmed Songying's achievements and persistent independent innovation in the physical AI field. He noted that Songying is a key sci-tech innovation enterprise in Minhang's future industry track, and expressed the hope that the company would seize regional sci-tech development opportunities, keep strengthening core technology breakthroughs, actively plan major innovation platform construction, and continuously expand new space for industry development.
Recently, the 2026 Power Embodied Intelligence Application Competition, hosted by China Southern Power Grid, officially released its competition invitation, with related coverage featured on the Xinhua Net app drawing wide attention. Shanghai Songying Technology Co., Ltd., as a co-organizer of the competition, is deeply involved in its construction, supporting technological innovation and practice of embodied intelligence in the power industry.
