Physics Simulation Engineer (PhD)

Responsibilities

  1. Participate in pre-research and innovation of core physics engine algorithms, covering modeling and numerical simulation of physical phenomena such as rigid body dynamics, soft body and elastomer simulation, fracture mechanics, granular materials, and electromagnetic simulation
  2. Research and implement efficient coupling algorithms for multiple physical phenomena (e.g., force-thermal-electrical-magnetic) to improve the comprehensiveness and realism of simulation
  3. Perform algorithm performance analysis, optimization, and parallelization (CPU/GPU) design for large-scale complex simulation scenarios to meet real-time or high-performance computing requirements
  4. Explore applications of frontier technologies such as machine learning in physics simulation (e.g., accelerated solving, model reduction, process control), and convert theoretical research results into usable algorithm prototypes
  5. Work closely with development and product teams to ensure consistency between simulation models and real-world data and drive product design optimization

Requirements

  1. PhD in Physics, Computational Physics, Theoretical Physics, Mechanics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
  2. Solid theoretical foundation in physics, with understanding of core areas such as classical mechanics, continuum mechanics, and statistical mechanics
  3. Proficient in C++ or Python with strong data structure and algorithm fundamentals, and research or project experience implementing mathematical models in code
  4. Passionate and curious about physics simulation technology, with good team communication and collaboration spirit

Bonus Points

  • First-author publications in top international academic conferences or journals
  • Experience using or developing physics engines (e.g., PhysX, Bullet, Havok, MuJoCo)
  • Experience in high-performance computing (HPC) or GPU-accelerated simulation (e.g., CUDA)
